Re: Fuel pipe pump to carb ID?

40 minutes ..... :o :o
Could write the salient points here in a few sentences....
Attention span of a youtube viewer for that sort of video, about 3 or 4 minutes.

I hope it's not your video...
No not my video, yes he does tend to waffle on.

Re: Fuel pipe pump to carb ID?

Could the fuel hose from the pump to the carb be replaced with copper pipe like that used from the tank to the pump thereby minimising the amount of rubber hose??

Re: Head off

Well done on the rebuild.
I am about to start on mine.
Did you go with rings from ESM?
What do the number 2's stamped into the top of the block signify? Mine has 3's.

Re: Compression Pressure

Well this might just be the cause, amazingly it hasn't damaged the bore but I think i'll get it re-bored anyway.

Re: Compression Pressure

Unfortunately it doesn't have an oil canister fitted and I don't know how much oil it uses as it's not on the road yet.

This video shows the problem, ignore the leaking radiator it now has a new one.

Re: Compression Pressure

Sorry I should have better explained. The engine is unknown. It's in a 61 minor I recently bought. The reason for the compression test is that it is blowing oil mist out the breather pipes and oil filler cap (when removed). My mechanic mate wants a comparison figure so that we know what the compress...

Compression Pressure

Hi, can anyone tell me what the compression pressures should be on 1098cc engine please? My engine is showing 125. 137, 90, 130 psi dry and 168, 170, 130, 175 psi wet. So looks like it needs piston rings. My mechanic mate has asked me to try and find out what the dry compression pressure is for a fu...

Re: Leaking Nipples

Thank you.
The old nipples are the same as the new ones but looking on ESM the front and rear nipples are different, the front nipples are more pointy
I replaced like for like and I am now thinking the original ones were wrong so have ordered some new ones.

Leaking Nipples

Hi, I have just replaced the master cylinder on my minor and after bleeding the brakes, the nipples on the rear were leaking. So I replaced the nipples and they still leaked, so I replaced the brass banjos and they still leaked. I have now tightened a bit more every day for last week and they are be...

Re: Reg Question

Did the dvla not change the rules at some point so that re-registered cars were given an age related plate instead of a plate from the year they were re-registered?

Reg Question

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum and to Morris Minor ownership. I have recently bought a 1961 Minor on an A plate. It didn't click with me until I got it home but how can it be a 61 on an A? At first I was concerned but after doing some checks I've calmed down, the V5 has the correct registration ...
