Half shaft oil seals
I have a 1968 1098 two door and have noticed the passenger side rear spring is covered in oil that appears to be coming from the driveshaft oil seal. Is this an easy job or one I should avoid and get done professionally. I consider myself a fair home mechanic only. Thank you.

Re: Front brake binding
Many thanks for your helpful advice. I have cured the problem by replacing a sticking wheel cylinder and fitting new return springs. Just been on a lomg drive and the wheel was cool when I returned.

Front brake binding
I have a 1968 2 door saloon and am having a problem with the front nearside brake binding. The shoes are virtually new, and the cylinders have recently been replaced. The adjusters are set to minimum. When the footbrake is applied the brakes do not seem to release properly unless I tap the drum with...

Re: Valve chest breather
That clarifies things nicely, and it appears normal that there may be the odd drip from the breather tube. To stop the oil collecting at the joint between the sump and the block I will extend the tube to the bottom of the sump.
First time I have posted and found the forum really useful. Thanks

Valve chest breather
I have just bought my first Minor, a 1968 two door with a 1098 engine. The engine runs fine, starts first turn of the key and pulls well with no smoke from the exhaust. It did have a bad oil leak from the rocker gasket when I first got it. I have cured that but have noticed an occasional drip from t...
