Re: Ex-MMOC member thinking of rejoining MMOC
I joined the MMOC largely because I believe strongly in supporting one make/one marque clubs. They are the bottom brick in a tier of organisations such as the FBHVC, and the more noise clubs can make the better our chances of influencing possible adverse political decisions that relate to our hobby....

Re: transportation of chassis
When I bought a chassis from the excellent Alex, he was very helpful in searching for a batch of purchasers who lived in the same direction from him; the idea was that the purchasers could club together and make a bulk collection/delivery plan. In the event he delivered it himself (his young daughte...

Re: Updated cylinder head studs.
I come across this regularly with Riley engines. I call it "volcanoing". I gently run a fine-cut bias file across the top of the block and, by delicate touch, gently file down the volcanoing without scoring the block face. On Riley engines I have a worryingly thin block top face that lends...

Re: Morris won't start - SW London
Quick way out - buy a new battery. Sounds suspiciously batteryish to me. Worst outcome is that you have a spare battery.
If you can, try starting on the crank handle. If the battery is only supplying ignition without the load of a starter, that can get you going.

Re: Restoration Project - Value?
Sorry for your loss. I have seen much worse. Had life treated me more fairly ( i.e. no wife, other commitments, financial restrictions, house repairs, age-related aches and pains etc etc) I would love to tackle something like this. Actually, I am, with a recent purchase, but that's another story. Yo...

Re: Heated rear screen issue
Thanks John; I should be OK with that. Low melting point solder, warm the screen carefully with a fan heater, wire-wool the existing solder points, and let the "new" tag do the melting. I will have to fabricate a tag, but as I have plenty of solder-on electrical fittings I am sure that I c...

Heated rear screen issue
I have a heated rear screen; unfortunately one of the spade terminals has detached from the screen. I can't see a way of reattaching using the original method, which seems to be solder. At the back of my mind is an adhesive with conductive properties, maybe specially developed for just this issue. A...
Re: AI
It's a strange world, this AI. I posted on one of the many FB pages to which I subscribe an AI-generated description of the attributes of a Morris Minor. It rather frightened me. The whole process from enquiry to appearance of this Quinceyesque prose took about 2 seconds, and it was profuse. In simi...

Thanks for the replies.
Steve, PM sent.
I attach a monochrome photo of a TTA ***H Devon & Cornwall Panda Morris Minor successfully avoiding meaningful police work.
In Newquay where I had my experience with them they did not have radio equipment, just a Police box & blue light.

Police Panda
I have contracted to buy an ex-Devon & Cornwall Police Panda Morris 1000 TTA 786H. I am in a romantic relationship with this car as (if I stretch matters slightly) it is one of the fleet that I used to drive when I was a member of that force. When it arrives (see my post re. transportation) I wi...

Transportation - NW England - Westcountry
Just putting this out there - if anybody has a requirement for a Morris Minor or similar needing wheels-off transportation from NW England to the West Country, I wouldn't mind a chat. I have a slow burn necessity to bring a rolling Morris Minor from Exmoor to Manchester, so a similar trip in reverse...

Re: In a Former Life
Don't know too much about it to be honest, Rocco. All I have is one photo on the MMOC Facebook group and an honest warts and all description from a trustworthy MMOC stalwart. When it arrives in Manchester I will issue a report. I have dilemmas to solve. My present car is a lovely low-mileage 1970 2-...

Re: In a Former Life
Thread revival; I have just paid a MMOC stalwart; thus I become the new owner of TTA 786H, an ex-Devon & Cornwall Panda car. Sadly the date of registration puts it just out of possibility that it was one of my flock back in the day; however the proximate history of me and this car makes it feel ...
