Re: New owner 1st trip
So as I said, on the diagram you linked fuse feeds term A on control box which is connected to A1 which feeds the ignition switch which feeds the fuel pump. So the fuse controls the supply to the fuel pump. Putting a switch in a circuit does not change the fact that the fuse controls the supply. Fus...

Re: New owner 1st trip
But isn't the supply to the ignition switch via control box supplied from the fuse.
So no fuse no ignition switch supply so no output to fuel pump and ignition system, just like turning key off?

Re: New owner 1st trip
So what do the two fuses control, the lower dirty one stopped it running Doesn't one fuse feed the ignition switch that then supplies power to fuel pump and ignition circuit?
Cleaning it and the contacts resolved the issue.

Re: New owner 1st trip
Excellent news. A good Minor 1000 is indeed a very enjoyable drive. Always some small jobs to do though. I'm confused that a dirty fuse caused a breakdown? The ignition circuit is not fused on a Minor 1000 - for exactly that reason  On mine it's the fuse that live when key on and feeds the el...

New owner 1st trip
On first trip from storage to home it broke down  but simple fix turned out to be loose fuse and dirty ignition fuse holder. So cleaned and tightened set off next day for pub lunch and ran good.65 miles total, really liking Monty. Next job adjust drivers door catch as I think it's only on the ...

Yes has a master switch, so I will look behind the cable but think I will have to scrape the paint off.

Re: Newbie
LCV change 948 to 1098 cab codes "Z32". (9/62), Think the DP Mk1's were "Z33", "Z35" floorpan VIN stamp, although, MAT5's body codes lagged behind after 1961. Don't have book with me to cross reference body number, so bear with me.....can get awfully confusing at times...

Re: Indicators
Got them working dirty connection on feed to flasher unit. Flash rste seems quick compared to modern car though all working. Noticed front and rear on same terminal on one side and separate on the other on the other side of the DB10 unit. The empty terminal has no output. As I have separate rear ind...

Re: Newbie
Thanks for all the advice guys. I don't care if this is a genuine 1960 or not, I bought it because I liked it not because of its year. It came with a massive file of history back to 1994 with all the work and modification done over many years. If it's the wrong body shell or some sort of false ident...

Re: Newbie
It all depends upon whether the body number and the chassis number tie up. You haven't given any indication of what the chassis number is but if the V5 states that your car was first registered in 1960 and it has a 1960 chassis number attached to it, then the car you have would seem not to be the o...

Indicators
My car has DB10 unit and a conventional lucas 3 pin flasher unit next to it. Front indicators/ side light and separate indicators at rear, warning light on stalk . Could some one please post a wiring diagram or link. The indicators have stopped working and just a click from under bonnet (DB10?) when...

Re: Newbie
That isn't a 1960 car. The body number is quite a bit later than it should be I'm afraid. 2 or 3 years probably. Not an issue, I just trying to establish the year, it's had so many upgrades anyway. I assume can't be 63 as original registration has no date letter so possibly 62. When did trafalger b...

Re: Newbie
Bill, I can't quite make out from the pictures you've posted so far, but are your wipers working as "clap hands" or parallel? Also are the switches for your lights and wipers pull on or flick down for on? Looking at the fuse box, are the terminals screw connections or spade connections? D...
