Re: Spotted today.

Well I watched the youtube video , my wife said ,hope your not buying that . I think it has been a huge waisted effort and I wouldn't have it as a gift . Just my opinion ,somebody might love it . Have to agree other than a promotional gimmick for a business I can't imagine why you would want it. I ...

Look at fun period gadgetry post in general discussion and you will see the old Tapley brake tester. Old enough to remember using one in my mechanic days :o

Re: Brake fades heart sinks!

Surely you can pick up a cheap anchor and rope in that area  or bungee cord to assist the uphill return
Hope you can get your issue sorted, you can get a brake roller check without a full mot from most mot garages, money well spent on a safety issue :tu1:
Good luck

Re: Brake fades heart sinks!

Have you had the brakes roller tested to make sure both axles are doing their share? If most of the effort is on one axle it will overheat and fade. Do you know anyone who has a non contact infrared temperature gauge, you can take the brake temperatures after a decent , they have a lazer spot you ca...

Re: Fun Period Gadgetry

No I have rotated the image and stored in portrait and landscape but the forum only displays it in landscape . It's an old voltmeter in a wooden case, which hinges open so you can see the workings . Have you tried the Tapley meter in your car, they were the standard brake test tool before brake roll...

Re: Switches

The knob was never available at a seperate part and is firmly fixed in production - unlike the wiper and light switches. If you want complete originality you'll have to do some digging and ring/email round the specialists and buy good secondhand items. Easy enough to replace the whole cable  ...
