Re: Underside rust protection
Thanks for the information. So I would have to spray some undersea on, on a regular basis then, Some bits of the body work have some rust in places you can't see normally. But it is not bad.

Re: Wheel hub caps
That is a good idea. If I did that could I get the hub cap off easily when changing the wheel?

Wheel hub caps
I don't whether this comes under bodywork, but, yesterday I was driving, when my drivers side front wheel hub cap came off and was promptly run over by cars coming in the opposite direction. I retrieved the hub cap and it was bent. I have straitened it out as best I can and have replaced it on the w...

Air Filter
I have just adjusted my carburettor tick over as thengine was running too rich and fast. And I put in a new airfilter at the same time the old one I took out was completely black see photo. Is it possible to clean an air filter or should I just throw it away?

Re: Carburetor replacement
I went to another garage and the mechanic did adjust it this morning and it is not running so rich now. He asked me to get some 3 in 1 oil and put some in the carburettor, which I have now done. It is still running a bit fast. But I will see how it goes fuel wise now.

Re: Carburetor replacement
I think the nut might be screwed right up to the top and cannot be adjusted further so the mechanic could be right. However I am taking it to another mechanic on Friday to get a second opinion. If he says the same I might have to get a reconditioned one, however that does seem to be quite expensive....

Carburetor replacement
I took my 1968 Morris Traveller to a garage today as it is only doing just over 12 miles to the gallon and is running very rich. I have an SU AUD 13 carburetor, which according to the mechanic cannot be adjusted and needs replacement and he asked me to get a replacement and he would fit it. Where ca...

Re: Fuel Gauge 1968 Traveller
Thanks for the info. I have tried the method you suggested by shorting to an earth point. However I may not have connected to earth properly. It did not work the guage is still showing just over half full as before. and when I shorted it the gauge did not move to full so I probably did it wrong.

My 1968 Travellers fuel gauge when the petrol tank is full, shows just over half full. Can the gauge be adjusted to show the correct reading?

Re: Indicater Flasher too fast
Thanks for the replies.
I only bought the Traveller on 2 September this year and it has always flashed fast on both sides and the bulbs in the flashers seem to be correct.

On my 1968 Traveller, the flasher indicater works but flashes very fast. Is there any way the flashe can be slowed down to the normal flashing rate?
