That is not an oil bath air cleaner,they are just an oil lubticated gauze filter/silencer
Oil bath cleaners have resevior of oil in that catches debris in air as it flows past.

Make sure you have the crank in correct position or primary gear locking slide will prevent removal

Re Half shafts when I worked FVRDE (fIghting vehicle research establishment) they had trouble with L/Rover 1/2 shafts breaking so we took new ones and scribed a line along their length,after afew miles on and off road they were removed and it was suprising how much they had twisted different materia...

I HAD TROUBLE WITH MINE LEAKING AFTER FITTING SEVERAL SEALS IT STILL LEAKED,LOOKING AT THE SEAL CARRIER I REMOVED OLD SEAL AND FELT AND THEN FITTED 2 SEALS THERE IS JUST ENOUGH ROOM ,NO MORE LEAKS

I soldered mine you need a Large soldering iron and perfectly clean metal,heat the iron well away from tank,Black heat from the iron is not a problem
