Possibly the same problem that I had with Meggie especially as you are running a similar set up. Have you checked to see if you are running rich? This was mynproblem and a replacement flat and needle valve from SU cured this.

If it is the float letting too much petrol through would I be correct in assuming that the excess fuel is being pushed out of the overflow and this is what the strong smell of petrol is coming from?

Hi John thank you for tve reply, I will check through the float assembly, the breather is connected on stub close to the inlet.

Thank you for your replies they are much appreciated after kirsch og Googling as well as lots of elbow grease with different solvent cleaners I am now looking at vinyl fabric dye. I have a old seat cover to try on and will see how that comes out.

Morning all
Hope you can help with this I have reupholstered the front seats in Meggie and cleaned the covers which are PVC but they are quite dull and I am struggling to get any sort of shine back into them. I have tried Mothers cleaner and various polishes but to no avail.

Thanks for the reply and offer of help but I have managed to get them done at a Timpsons shoe repair shop by a gent who was very interested and happy to have the challenge for something different. So far it is all holding and looking good

Good afternoon all
Can anyone suggest someone who lives in the Surrey West Sussex area who has a sewing machine that is strong enough to ho through the layers of vinly on a front seat cover as some of the stitching on my cover has snapped and us now pulling apart on the joins.
