Re: Remote brake servo for MM
Hmmmm...Maybe it depends on how often you brake and how hard you brake. Brake boosters increase the rate of wear imhoMarkyB wrote:It just depends how much you slow the car down, not if a servo is fitted or not.I am not sure how long a standard set of shoes would last with the extra servo force applied.

Re: Remote brake servo for MM
As far as I know Mike, there are no bigger drums/backing plates that fit. You are right about the pads, I noticed this and thought perhaps it was a slip of the pen. Harder compounds for shoes are now difficult to find, at least in Australia, due to asbestos no longer being used, but there are race c...

Re: Remote brake servo for MM
A vacuum brake booster gives an appreciable increase in stopping performance. In theory, the previous post is correct, in practice however the theory does not hold water, stopping distances are dramatically decreased and it is so much easier to stop in a hurry or avoid a collision. The unit used in ...

Re: Derrington Four branch copy
Hi Mike, I am certain that you would be over carburetting, the engines you used as a comparison are OHV and flow a lot more air. I am using standard H1's on a full race engine bored .180" and they perform adequately, even when revving its a..e off. H2's don't work, you would possibly have more ...

Re: Scam using Ray Newells name
Unfortunately people are easily duped, as the owner manager of two PI agencies in Australia I've seen some smart people fall for all sorts of tricks, if an MMOC member was to recieve this email they may not stop to think about the indications that its not kosher, and part with the money because they...

Re: Derrington Four branch copy
theres a lot of rust free lowlights west of Toowoomba, have exported a few of them to Europe. Heres another idea, you may want to bin the latest project too as this manifold, although off a racer, could give you some fresh ideas.[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1290638443_4890 [/frame][fra...

Re: Boring out a sidevalve
Will post a photo of a 4mm overbore, or .160" engine when I get to it behind other engines. Will also photo the intake and extractors. This may surprise many, a full race engine that operates at 7000RPM 95% of the time using a pair of H1's. Tortron has the right idea (even though hes a kiwi :<)...

If these engines are ex army, as were the large number advertised some years ago in Australia, check them out carefully, they were used in many cases, damaged in some. The army "engineers" were obviously well trained at their jobs
