Re: Coming to a complete stop

I have purchased a coil, leads, points and condenser from ESM and it is a Lucas coil.
The coil that was on the car was an auto sparks one.
Thanks for the feedback and help, much appreciated.

Coming to a complete stop

Evening all, I have had the car fully rewired by an auto electric due to fire in the engine bay which melted all the wiring around the control point box and the dynamo Since then I have had some good runs out in the car with no issues until the couple of months and the furthest I have got is 10 mile...

les wrote: Sat May 08, 2021 8:11 pm Have you seen the diagram posted in the electrical section, if not it’s under topics. 3rd post down. Give it time to load.
Is this the same diagram for a 1968 ? model.
Thanks

Wiring Loom

Evening all,
Does someone please have a picture or diagram of a full wiring loom they could send me or point me in the right direction were I can find one. I have come across a black and white illustration but I was looking for a colour illustrated one.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Fuel Pump

Evening,
Thanks for the help and advice. After getting my neighbour to give me a helping hand to solve the problem, it turned out to be a problem with 2 spark plugs which have all now been changed and back to normal running.
Thanks again for all the help and advice.

Re: Fuel Pump

So are you sure this is a fuel problem? The pump appears to be working, the float is working, but the engine won't start and you have a smell of petrol? If the float chamber is full, the valve will shut off and the pump won't tick. So it may be an ignition problem - remove one of the spark plugs af...

Is there 12volt feed to the pump?
Has your winter restoration disturbed the wiring?
Give it a tap or three like Kevin suggested.
It was something that I didn't touch during the winter work other than change the hose from the pump to the carb.

First, disconnect the fuel pipe from the carburettor, place the end in an empty bottle and get someone to turn the ignition on. This will tell you if the pump is pumping fuel or not.

Thank you.
