Re: Clutch fork orientation
Just to let all know that my son's unscientific approach seems to have worked (for now). Three 50 mile round trips up and down the Lincolnshire Wolds and the clutch is still operating fine. Only time will tell if we have to the job correctly, i.e. set the heights of the fingers. Thank you to all tha...

Re: Clutch fork orientation
Update: after removing the engine last November it was found that the yoke had been refitted correctly. The actual problem was that the clutch pressure plate had gone wonky, just like in the thread https://board.mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?p=697824&sid=62d6a8300e3cb21623006b933870a3b2#p697824. The...

Re: Clutch fork orientation
This YouTube clip shows how it is assembled (from around 1:50 onwards). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SNKUz_E78g Thank you for your very quick reply. It is therefore possible that the carbon thingy it too far away from the pressure plate if I have the fork in the incorrect orientation: something...

Clutch fork orientation
Hi All, Nearly two years ago, the engine and gearbox on our 1969 Morris 1000 Traveller were removed, degreased, cleaned, painted, gaskets replaced etc. We also fitted a new three part clutch (Borg and Beck) from a reputable Morris Minor parts supplier along with most of the clutch linkage components...

Re: Wiper Problem (possibly fixed)
Interestingly I discovered the same issue with the wiper arc and wheel boxes at the back of 2020.

It's now made me wary of so called replacement parts.

Re: SPEEDOMETER LED's
I did complete my project about a year ago now and have been pleased with my results going from this: Original illumination.jpg to this: Even illumination.jpg Using a strip of LEDs: Haol of LEDs.jpg I also added a 10V regulator and circuitry for a low fuel level LED: this LED is fitted to a 3D print...

Re: LED Headlamps
Late to the party but I'm interested in fitted suitable LED replacement headlamp bulbs provided they do indeed do the job. My concern is the beam pattern on the road: it's pointless to me that the lights appear brighter when looking into the glass lenses if I cannot see in front of me when driving!...

Re: Traveller Interior Light Earth
I've got to sort mine out as well. I assumed that after running down the door pillar the wire connected to the door close/open switches so that when either door is opened a connection is made to ground, turning on the light. The ground connection local to the light may be for the switch on the light...

Re: 32 tooth wiper wheelbox
So I was right (for a change): putting the new wheelbox on the driver's side this afternoon confirmed that the windscreen at the far RHS does not get cleared of water! It must be that you need to order two such wheelboxes and a cog for the wiper motor (or replace the motor) to allow the wiper on a 3...

32 tooth wiper wheelbox
Will I notice a difference if I swap a single 27 tooth wiper wheelbox with one with 32 teeth bearing in mind that a wiper cycle would only give 84% of the sweep of the other? How far around does the cog go anyway as I've read where some people swap around the wheelbox by 180 degrees due to wear? I w...

Re: SPEEDOMETER LED's
In order to improve the illumination of the speedometer on my 69 Traveler, particularly at the top around the '50' where the odometer mechanism blocks the light from the two 'backlight' bulbs, I've today fitted a LED strip and a control unit of my own design in the speedometer with an associated pot...

Re: LCV wheels.
I'm probably high-jacking the subject instead of creating a new one. I'm currently preparing four off 3" J wheels for repainting before I fit 145 80 R14 tyres and tubes to them. I've noticed that all four wheels have different part no.s, even though the profiles appear to be identical: LP802 LM...

Re: Bare Metal Restoration
In the end I used 100mg of citric acid crystals (food additive E330) per litre of water, i.e 2kg in 200 litres in a wheelie bin. After stripping off all the old paint and rust I've dipped each panel and wheel for 3 to 4 days, taking them out twice a day to scrub them to help the process. All have co...

Re: Bare Metal Restoration
My 1st post although I've been a MMOC member for about 20 years. To relieve the boredom during these exceptional times, my son and I have the front of our Morris 1000 Traveler off at the moment and have stripped all the parts down to metal with twisted wire brushes etc. in preparation to repaint the...
