Re: Replacing wheel cylinders
Just joining this thread as I think my question fits logically here... After sitting for too long my brakes needed some work. Sure enough, inspection revealed at least 3 of the wheel cylinders sticking/stuck so I've overhauled, red rubber greased and bled the system. If continually pumped the pedal ...

Re: GPO van wheel rims
I have just posted a new thread asking for information about Ace Rimbellishers and their codes. If anyone reading this has any info to add, particularly if it relates to fitment of Rimbellishers to Minor rims (Million or otherwise), please check it out.

Ace Rimbellisher codes
I am trying to put together a list of the id codes for Ace Rimbellishers to make it easier to identify them as they appear on ebay or hanging in people's sheds. The code is very small and appears on the back next to the valve hole. It is not to be confused with the Patent No. 656432 which appears on...

Re: GPO van wheel rims
An old thread, I know... RussLCV you mention here the difference between LP 917 and 936. What were the 936 rims used on? [Edit: Whoops, just found answer here: https://www.mmoc.org.uk/Messageboard/viewtopic.php?t=18928 ] Were the 917s only original equipment on 8 cwt LCVs, or did BMC have them in op...

Re: LCV wheels.
To manyminors and anyone else in the know: Can you please elaborate on the heavier front suspension. I have somewhere in international transit a pair of heavy steering arms (purely because I saw them come up for sale). I thought of putting them on my 6 cwt van. What is the difference with the uprigh...

Re: MG Metro bits
Thanks Philthehill, It sounds like you are suggesting swapping the MG bits to Marina block is still the best/sensible option. I've never swapped cams before - is cam and followers swap straightforward? Will it match my Marina oil pump? From a chat with Metro owners, they suggested the engine numbers...

MG Metro bits
Years ago I did a 1275 Marina conversion in my van. At that stage I also had a FWD Hornet and picked up a MG Metro motor with a mind to converting it. The Hornet has been gone for a while, but I still have the MG motor. I'm keen to up spec my Marina motor and obviously some bits can be swapped with ...
