You seen sure it will give at some point, so my son has sprayed it with release spray and I'll continue to spray it over time, hopefully it will soak in and out will come apart.
Fingers crossed!

Re: Rear brake light issue
I guess any kind of brake light is going to rely on the switch unless I can attach something mechanical to the brake pedal and that's not a quick fix.

Re: Rear brake light issue
Thanks for the info on the micro switch.
Sadly the pressure switch will not budge at all, even with the mole grip method it is going nowhere without twisting the brake lines.
I'll get a three way piece and try my luck with that.
Thank you
Debbie

Re: Rear brake light issue
It's a pressure operated switch, these have far-east replacements which can go "stiff" and need more pressure to operate...I had one and decided to fit a micro-switch on the pedal itself , I'm a happy bunny now... John  Hi Sleeper, I hope you see this! I am interested to know how you...

Re: Front indicators not working
As Bill says, get yourself a little 12volt test light. Follow the indicator wiring back to the relay unit and see if there is a live supply there. If the rear indicator is working, it will be easy enough to trace the fault which is most likely just a poor connection. CME 979A was a well known car i...

Re: Front indicators not working - Solved!
Hello! Update on the indicators: we've got them working. Thanks to you guys for pointing me towards the wiring diagrams in the Haynes Manual. Lots of studying and head scratching but it turns out the Dual Personality is the key: I have the old style relay set up but wired with the new style wiring l...

Re: Front indicators not working
Drat, my son has borrowed my multimeter, I'll have to wait to get it back.
I definitely have double filament bulbs in the one side - I will check the other. I really appreciate the detailed response.
Thanks
Debbie

Re: Front indicators not working
Hi Bill I have flashing brake lights, no separate indicators. I have a multimeter but I have previously been befuddled by it. I will have to work that out and I'll let you know how I get on. It's all good for the grey matter. I have also found a youtube vid where someone opens and cleans up the rela...

Re: Front indicators not working
Hi, thanks for the welcome and thanks for the detailed reply guys. I do have the box on the inner wing, do you think it may be a fault in there? The wiring on that has not been disturbed - it is almost entirely original wiring, that's not to say it hasn't broken inside... Looking at my workshop manu...

Front indicators not working
Hello! I have just finished bolting on a new front wing and re-installing the headlight on my 1962/3 saloon, it has the white side lights which flash for indicators. I have renewed the earth connections - two on each side for the lights and everything works except the front indicators will not flash...
