Re: trafficators sticking.

Hi all - just a further observation that may assist someone else. I upgraded all my lights to LED from classic car LEDs in the UK (I’m in NZ) and the festoon bulb they supply for this is really bright. I also have found the ‘cheap’ aftermarket lenses from ‘The usual suppliers’ to be of excellent qua...

Re: [BMC Family Question] disc brakes on A40 Farina

Geez, thanks for the detailed reply Phil - that is amazing. I will have a look into the logistics of the shipping, probably my best option. Thanks for clarifying that there is little compatibility with the marina. Much appreciated. Cheers Todd

[BMC Family Question] disc brakes on A40 Farina

Hi folks, just wondering if anyone here knows whether Marina discs can be transplanted into a mk2 A40 Farina? I’ve done this upgrade on our Traveller and would love to get discs up front on the Farina - as she’s getting a warmed up Marina 1275 engine later this year. I have seen that the midget disc...

Thanks to all the regular posters.

I just wanted to express my gratitude to all the regular posters on the mechanical threads - you all know who you are. I’ve been restoring and maintaining a traveler and A40 Farina intermittently over the past 5 years and the answer to almost every problem seems to be found either here or on MG and ...

this is why I don't go on the facebook groups anymore. there are far too many 'experts' out there.

Ditto!

Re: Not the average misfire - SOLVED

I just wanted to add another cause of high speed misfire to the knowledge bank - old fuel. After lockdown here in NZ I took my Traveller down to the local country garage and filled her up with Premium. About five minutes later she was spazzing out at anything above 50 MPH. It took me far too long to...

Well done! I was formulating a similar strategy for this job - great to see you nailed it. Great tip using the rubber, i would have ripped, shipped and busted my first piston without that idea 🤣

Re: Not the average misfire - SOLVED

I'm sure others will give you further advice, but for my part i fitted one of these relatively low cost filters on a 1275 MG Midget fitted with an HIF44 carb https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CLASSIC-MINI-CONE-AIR-FILTER-1-75-SU-CARB-HIF44-AUSTIN-MORRIS-K-N-STYLE-9B6/282681964686?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26...

Re: Not the average misfire - SOLVED

Howdy all - I'm new here, but this thread solved misfiring issues with my 1958 Traveller, so thought I would add my findings to the thread for anyone else searching for a solution. My misfire turned out to be two distinct symptoms of from two distinct causes: a mid-range crackling sputtering jerky m...
