Absorbing oil and fluids
Just some useful tips to cope with fluids and oils on the garage or driveway when doing maintenance. A few things I have used, apart from the obvious drip trays etc. The absorbent mats that go on mattresses and chairs etc in hospitals and care homes. These are used for incontinence and other bodily ...

Re: The awful joke thread
Thats my good deed for Christmas done at Tesco tonight. I was behind an old lady at check-out. Her bill came to £28 but she only had £20 and claimed she must have lost £10 in the shop. I felt very sorry for her. She didn’t want help but I insisted and in no time at all, we had most of her shopping b...

Re: The awful joke thread
An Irishman went to the Doctors to find out the results of a test. The Doctor says, " I'm afraid Paddy that I can only give you two weeks to live".... Paddy thought for a while and then replied, "Well Doc, in that case can I have the first week in July and the second week in August&qu...

Re: The awful joke thread
Bit of a long one for you, great to try and tell it in the pub after you've had a few! The tale of the three huts. One day a man was shipwrecked and got washed up on the beach of a remote tropical island. Unfortunately for him it was inhabited by a fierce tribe of cannibals. These natives saw him be...

Probably sit there for a while, then back up...slowly...oops I stalled the car, now it won’t start (cos I’ve pulled out the choke fully while the engine is hot), oh dear-it looks as if I’ll have to get out and push it backwards...sorry I’m so slow, bad back and leg (bazooka round injury at Iwo-Jima)...

"Anyway - I'm not old enough, and I'm healthy enough not to have been called for the vaccine yet. I'm reasonably confident that if I got it, then it wouldn't cause me massive problems - but when my time comes I will get the jab whichever flavour it is..." Matt, Your either brave, ignorant ...

Re: Who's had the Covid vaccine? Anyone going to refuse it?
I had the Pfizer vaccine a couple of weeks ago now and all was fine. Lots of volunteers helping out in the local health centre which was all very well organised. Wife had hers in the same place a few days later, however she had the Oxford one. She had flu-like symptoms for a couple of days (high tem...

Be better off teaching them how to pay household bills and fending for themselves when they get older rather than relying on the bank of Mum and Dad.

You’ll never find hairs on an apple,
But you’ll always find hairs on an ape.
And it’s only the hairs on a gooseberry
That stops it from being a grape

Re: Carpets & underlay
I fitted the underlay and carpet first and then seats and seatbelts. With all the seats out, I stripped all the old carpet and underlay out and painted the floor. This gave a good surface for any adhesive for the underfelt. When fitting the carpets, the holes for the seat mountings and seatbelt fixi...
