Re: Tyres (Again!)

Here is the cheapest with free delivery. http://www.ctyres.co.uk/partsa.php?width=155&height=80&rim=14&proceed.x=47&proceed.y=18 Good spot. Their fully fitted price of £39.30 probably can't be beaten either. I've bought Toyo's from camskill before as they were cheaper than a certain...

Re: Breather question.

I've got the sealed filler cap/rocker breather to carb setup but my slight concern with this arrangement is how well the cap seals. The ring on the filler neck doesn't have much of a flange on it and I had to pack out the sealing washer on the cap as when twisted on it was a very loose fit providing...

Re: Brake pipe sets in Kunifer.

Didn't we have a discussion a while back about being careful where you secure the brake pipe on the rear axle with copper pipes? This was due to the rear cylinder moving up and down and so flexing the pipe between two effectively fixed points and causing work hardening.

Re: Best Greasing Configuration ?

Thanks for the link. I wonder if those double grease nipple trunnions have a second groove or are just simply another nipple drilled and tapped..

Re: Best Greasing Configuration ?

Yes, this really is the key. Grease goes in much easier then. There is a sweet spot when the trunnions have no load on them. I also grease twice, once on each opposite lock to try and get the grease in more evenly. Bottom trunnions seem the hardest to achieve this. Don't know if the double nipple tr...

Yes, I bet very few do a fluid change at the recommended intervals. Although some poor souls probably do a complete fluid change when they have bleeding problems. :(

Re: Brass Brake Bleed Nipples

Just replaced a rear brake pipe and the brass union snapped off in the rear cylinder, surprisingly easily. Came out fine from the brass union at the other end though. Steel bleed nipple had seized in as well. Replaced everything with lots of red brake grease on the threads and a silicone hose end ca...

Re: Tyre rating

I would think that the 91v is a safer tyre at 130mph than the 91H, being more within it's capabilites at that speed.
What about tyres on the same axle with one at maximum tread and one at minimum tread? Or one tyre with a wet grip rating of A and another with G? :-?

Re: ENGINE AND GEARBOX REMOVAL

Is there a knack to engine only removal and is the gearbox left completely alone? I've tried a couple of times but can't get the engine far enough forward to come out. The sump hits the front cross member before the clutch cover is clear of the first motion shaft. Does the front of the engine need t...
