I've just about finished restoring my Minor now and I've been out for a few test runs. There's something not quite right about the way the engine is running. Previously I remember the throttle response was really sharp, just a quick blip and it would rev, it's not like that now it takes a few second...

OK, I will look out for some Dum Dum, though it's all fairly clean and smooth so I imagine it would be fine without if I can't find any locally.

The aperture is pretty good, remarkably good to be honest.

I'm just about to replace the rear side window with a new sealing rubber.
Question is do you need to use a sealing compound and if so what sort?.

The existing rubber has perished but there was some softish sealer stuck on the glass, which I have cleaned off. Looked a bit like Sikoflex?.

Right I've been back to the company I got the paint from and got an unusual tale...... Aparantly the boot lid was scanned at one branch and the formula for the paint derived from the scan, this was given to the other branch to mix the paint. The problem is the formula was for 2 pack, not Cellulose. ...

To be honest I think it's impossible to get an idea of the paint from photo's. The price per litre is about what I paid, but as I'm not convinced the car is a genuine colour I don't feel as though I would be getting anywhere by just buying on spec.
That site is smoke grey up to 64 only, not sure if it's acurate though.

I'm having a frustrating time with paint at the moment. I'm trying to match the grey on my Minor so i can get a litre of cellulose made up. It seems likely the replacement one is the early type then, it didn't have any holes for badges.

Well it's hard to say because the car has a prop on the right hand side which initialy engaged into some drilled and tapped holes in the boot lid (well actualy two were d&t's the other was a self tapper). On the replacement lid there were no drilled and tapped holes only holes for self tappers. ...

How can I tell which boot handle I need, I notice there are two types. I'm replacing the boot lid on my 69 minor and I have found that the replacement lid I got from Ebay has differant centres for the fixing screws on the handle and also a differant pattern of cutouts. Now basicaly I have one handle...

Blimey, better check the local guys then. It never occured to me delivering a one piece one would be a bit tricky!!

Where's best for Exhaust these days?.
It seems the 'economic' stainless steel one has dropped of the suplliers on line listings. There is a three piece one which seems a bit expensive.

I'm not really bothered about stainless, just want a cheap exhaust to get the Moggy back on the road again.

My floor repair panels have got an upstand on them, I've cut it down in height and intend them to be inside the main sill section, not doing much really, but not in the way either.

Good diagrams those, I've cut everything to suit diagram A, which I think is the correct one.
