Miracles can happen... A mate of mine turned up yesterday with, not only a morris tank, but a Pick up tank

It is in way better condition than mine although I haven't had the chance to clean it fully yet. Hopefully should be able to repair?

Yes, original LCV tanks have the fill tube point straight out the side. The other models are angled towards the rear.

OK so my chances of finding a lcv locally with a useful tank is terribly slim.

Probably would but new ones seem to unavailable on esm etc and are a bit pricey for my budget. Haven't as yet found a single morris in local scrapyards. Just looking for other options.

It claims heat proof but I mostly used it cause I had a tin.

Always found a length of thin electric cable ideal instead of string. There is a tool for insert. It looks a bit like an oversized sail needle the insert slides thru the eye.

Thanks Ray, Am looking around at other suppliers for panels but I am still erring towards a custom load bay. The section that was the front cross member and the one above that where replaced with a single panel I boshed together in 2mm. So even the replacement parts would need chopping. Working out ...

and again, Is the rubber strip between the load area and side there simple to fill a gap or is the gap there to allow movement between floor and sides. ie if I fix floor solidly to sides will it cause problems later

Ok Guys. It is a pickup with tub sides. Looking at the tub sides it looks to me like the rubber seal between it and the load area is at best a water trap and at worst it is actual wearing the paint and starting the rust and I am not that keen on putting it back as was. If you plug through onto the 1/8 flat I think the stress the section must be under will eventually just pull the weld through the bodywork. Better to use 2 or 3mm plate plugged onto the back. I would then grind along the crack opening it up a bit. A good weld will then catch the repair section as we...

Thanks Alex, Am re piping and the master cylinder is a write off. The rear brake cylinders still had fluid in them and cleaned up nicely and functioned as much as I could tell using compressed air. Have opted to leave them in place til i can pipe up and test. Was hoping to refurbish maybe 2 of the 4...
