Which weld lap or butt

I have been looking at various patch panel welding such as floor pans, inner wing and boot area on you tube. I see that professionally body shops are just lap welding panels in (after cutting out the rust), doesn't this a exposed edge on one side ? I suppose it does the job. I thought that butt weld...

Primer question

I have done a search, but its a mine field of answers, I understand that you use etch primer on bare metal, would you use etch primer on repair panels that that have the black coating/or other painted surfaces, on them or just use normal primer. Re: What jacks to use to lift?

I'm sure I've seen car rollers with wheels on so the car can be moved while on it's side. It depends what kind of work you need to do but if it involves grinding or welding it will be a lot nicer and safer with the car on it's side. In fact you will probably get more done, faster, because it's so u...

Re: What jacks to use to lift?

If the work doesn't involve taking the wheels off then trusty wheel ramps would always be my favourite for doing any decent work under the car. Do you mean somthing like this. LOL http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/car-wheel-ramps-building-blocks-/280670226087?pt=UK_Lifting_Moving_Equipment&hash=item41593fc...

Storing Parts in garage

Whats the best way to store parts in a single cold damp drafty garage :-?

Going to remove bumper, headlights etc for some repair work.

Thought about wrapping up in sheets, but will be a condensation trap?

strange thing about the inline filter, should it completely full with fuel with no air gaps, it seems like it only 3parts full when the engine is running.

are these symptoms of fuel starvation, do you think it could be the float chamber needle valve sticking as the carb was the last job done?

Indicate left, the relay click once then goes out, but the indicators flash rapidly, but go out when brake is pressed. how do they flash when the relay box isn't clicking?
