Thanks all, yes these are the ones you sold me Dennis.
I looked closely in the place described and you can just make out the LP917 under the powder coating.
Will probably put them on eBay this week unless anyone has any offers?
Thanks
Dave

Brake light problem
I have a problem with the brake light which come on when the ignition is turned on.
Have checked wiring and all seems ok.
When the brake light switch fails do the brake lights
come on or not work at all??

Clutch kits
I need to fit a new clutch to my 1098 saloon.
When I check the prices for kits comprising pressure plate, friction plate and release bearings there is a huge difference in price, from around £70 to £170. What is the real difference in quality??

Re: 1275 engine + ford 5 speed
Thanks for that George. The reason I was asking was that I had responded to a for sale item on this board regarding a 1275 unit c/w 5 speed gearbox and fitting kit. You may recall an ad where comment was made about vultures circling!! :D :D Well today the vulture landed and I picked up these items.I...

For those of you who have this set up already, what are the main components I need to source (apart from engine and box).
Are there any modifications to the car to accept this set up?
Is it worth the expense / hassle?
Thanks for your input

Are there any checks on a gearbox before putting into car?
Slightly off topic but I have just got my frogeye running to find that the "reconditioned box" jumps out of reverse, leaks oil and is difficult to engage third. It has the smooth case box similar to the Minor, and I have two other of these boxes at home but dont want the hassle of taking o...

Re: What are these off???
I tried the manifold on an old 948 A series head and it fits. Does that mean that this is from a BMC rather than a Ford or did they have similar sized heads.

I'm still trying to find out how a 'carcoon' works - I can't see blowing in damp air can possibly do much good - so - is the air dried before it's blown in ? Roy The air is not dried or heated before going through the chamber but is merely blown through over the car, I suppose it is a bit like driv...
Carcoons
Having seen the beginnings of a discussion on carcoons on another thread I thought it would be useful to start a fresh topic on the subject. I have used a "carcoon" now for about 12 years. Actually the one I have is not a Carcoon but is an Airchamber which is the same principle but has a f...
