Hi, I've got Ray's book, it was that that helped me decide that it definately wasn't Clarendon grey. But the pictures of other shades are either not very clear or missing, plus, how much will the interior paintwork have faded over the last 45 years? It seems too dark to be pearl grey, but you never ...

Further to above the chassis number is 760061 And the door cards i think are the original Maroon colour, the car also at somepoint has had it's original registration No. transfered to another vehicle because this on is non-transferable. Does anyone know how to trace the original Reg number? If it is...

Colour Clues?

I have a 1559 two door saloon. Which was originally grey, but has been resprayed red then trafalgar blue at some point later. my problem is Which shade of grey is it? I've been told it is clarendon grey but the date on the log book suggests that it is too late as the vehicle was 1st registered 02/10...

Cam, you seem to be the font of "Mog" knowledge. Would the aldon be suitable for the 948 and 1098 Mog?

Electronic ignition?

I have seen a few different systems advertised, magnetronic and optronic which if any is best? Or, would i be better off saving up a few more pennies and going for an aldon distributor? What do you reckon?

Fuel Tanks!!

Why are they so damn expensive? I find it to be a bit of a joke that two essentially pressed steel panels welded together could cost £150. The car only cost me £600. I bought a stainless fuel tank for an MGB a couple of years ago for less than £150! Even a normal MGB tank is only £52.00 or nickel pl...

Cheers Kev, i already have a seperate inlet manifold and 38hif carb so no cost there. I was wondering if a midget lcb is the same as/would fit a mog. If so would a performace mog exhaust fit this. it just seems at the moment that there are a lot of midget manifolds for sale at very reasonable prices.

So the midget one fits the engine but will not exit the engine bay in the right place. Would that not be the same for a 1275 mini manifold as the engine is transverse? So, is the only option for a performance manifold a one specially designed for a minor or can another model be used?

Midget Manifolds

Is it possible and easy to fit a midget performance manifold to a 1098 MM, does it increase performance and can you use a whole midget system or just the manifold?Just seems to be loads around and really cheap, even in SS.

Midget Brakes!!!!!!!

Can anyone Give me a list of parts needed to convert a minor to Midget disc brakes. I know that they are not up to the ford conversions effectiveness but do seem a hell of a lot cheaper/easier to source, second hand. Many Thanks

Even more 12g 295!!!!!!

Iam in the process of improving the performance of a standard 1098 mog. I have collected together a number of parts including a 12g 295 head from a mini cooper, both 38 and 44 hif carbs, heated inlet manifold, K&N Filter etc. I'm off down to the NEC and hoping to pick up an LCB manifold and perf...

Hi, i have a 1959 2 door saloon which was a 948cc. This at some point in the past has been changed to 1098cc with matching 1098 gearbox. My question is, it is fitted with a bronze faced speedo, should this have been changed? How far out will it be, and is it possible to correct it/recalibrate it?

Woodpecker!!!!!

I have just become the proud owner of a 1959 2 door saloon :D , which has been fitted with a 1098 engine. But the problem is the fuel pump, it has been replaced by a one of unknown origin (some nasty plastic looking thing!)and has a tendancy to sound like a woodpecker, i do not meen a faint tapping ...

1500 minor

Does anyone know if it is an easy task to fit a 1500 MG Midget engine ito an MM? They seem to be fairly plentifull and cheap, It's just a thought, or would a 1275 be an easier option/ better bet?

Thanks again guys! Now, is it easy to find a decent 1275/1300 motor at a reasonable price or am i better off boring out a 1098? how much can a 1098 be increased in volume by and still be fairly reliable? Again you say that the gearbox is the limiting factor, are any of the gearbox uprades mentioned ...
