Please forgive my ignorance..my engine bay is currently Rust Brown..what is the proper color scheme? Inner wings and bulkhead body color and all else chassis black? Is power coat black too much a "gloss black" to be anywhere near correct..or does nobody really care?

Thanks

Gearbox Ratios

I've been trudging up and down the net looking for the ratios of the standard 4 speed gearbox ratios on the Minor 1000.
I've probably gone right past them..but not noticed.

Can anybody provide this information?

Thanks!

Right..I'm using a self etching primer.
The supply house I bought my materials from recommends filling on top of epoxy primer as the filler can absorb moisture and cause rust underneath.
All of the finish steps you list are what I'll be doing.
Gosh this is fun :-?

I've got another concern on this topic: Heat reflection We aren't offered Gasoline...we are sold Motor Fuel. The difference being additives. Ethanol is usually added under the guise of reducing emissions. It's really a subsidy boondoggle but that's another topic. As a result, I experience vapor lock...

Perhaps another patch piece would be the answer. I'll now more tomorrow after working on the piece some more. The sheet metal that didn't rust <to speak of> was a leg shield from a Lambretta TV175 and a couple other bits of American cars. I noticed today that my rear wings are probably replacements....

Front Wing repair problem

Working on the left front wing. The edge adjacent the door was rusted through..so I sand blasted it, cleaned it out and welded in a sheet metal strip. The rolled edge was still solid so I left it as an attachment point. My problem is, the span between the rear edgs and the arch itself now has a bulg...

First..thank you all for swift reply and spirited discussion :~) As said, I'm not doing this with an eye to Best In Show..rather, as I presume most people, if I'm going to do something I prefer to do it in a correct manner. Sometimes the correct manner doesn't make sense...then I prefer to do what's...

I don't think many paints take too well over Hammerite. They tend to wrinkle and lift. In classic car shows (local ones anyway!) you don't see too many judges looking under the cars. Hmmm..never tried to over coat Hammerite...didn't know it couldn't be done. See...I'm learning allready! Here..in a ...

Undercarraige paint

Hello, I'm in Denver..I've had Max <1971 registered 2 dr Saloon> for about 5 years. He needs a good going through and that's what he's getting. I have him stripped down just about to the bare bones. As part of this process, I steam cleaned and degreased the underside..and found the original finish t...
