Thanks for the reply. The real problem is the size of the replacement, its too small to fit snugly over the gearbox and clamp down to the tunnel. What size was the secondhand original one you obtained? Perhaps thats a route I should look at.

Gearbox gaiter

I have just purchased a replacement gearbox gaiter for my 1966 Traveller. However when I tried to fit it, I find that overall its about 1/2 inch lower than the original and the internal hole is about 1/2 smaller. Therefore fitting it is very difficult. I have been assured that all the ones available...
