Just received my Clipper blue can - it's quite close to my celly tin colour. Both don't look like your picture !! :-? To me it looks like a dark grey - however if I take a pic with the flash, it over exposes and I get the same shade (nearly) as your car. I guess I need to view it in some sunlight - ...

Hi I haven't read all this thread but I have just bought some cellulose Clipper Blue for a future project. But I am not sure if the colour is correct and I don't have a car to compare. Where are you? It would be really useful to see your car and verify my paint. I have a sample pot (of paint) as wel...

Thanks for the info. My point of enquiring for making a hole rather than removing it was that maybe the seal is also providing location for the end of the spring thus stopping it from touching the cylinder bore. When I take it apart I should be able to see but its reassuring that someone else has th...

Thanks for the info. Sounds really odd for the master cylinder to retain some presure as the brake shoes sit on their little adjuster cam. I guess they sit back after a short time when the pressure leaks past the master cylinder. I have a new master cylinder - the top hat seal is the one on the end ...

Marina disc brakes
Hi I've got marina calipers that will eventially go on my mog - the discs and hub are on after much messing about. I've read that you need to modify the master cylinder. I can't really see why (which is why I'm asking!!) there needs to be a mod as the old wheel cylinders move back by the springs, ca...

Hi Russ and all Sorry to take a long time - too busy fixing the car - finished the welding and now sorting out the axles. Bit of a story there - will add to my web site and tell more later. I have only ever seen one other disabled mog, avan and that was at the Dorset branch rally. Got lots of iffy l...

Hi Cam I've not really any idea how much it weighs. It is still quite a lump ! I would be a bit concerned to suspend it by the bumper mounts if there is lots of rust around the inner wing end but I think they must be pretty strong really especially if the metal nearby is sound. Luckily its not norma...

Hi Russell Sorry its been a while - I've been busy and don't visit the site often. I've started my website and put some pics of the Minor and the invalid carriage mods. Follow this link and hopefully it will show some pics! http://www.1000fluffyclouds.co.uk/WhatWeAreDoing/MorrisBlog/phpblogger.php?p...

RE: marks
Just spotted this thread and just want to add (nothing about polishing the family silver!) that watermarks can also be a problem on new paintwork. I had sprayed cellulose trafalgar blue and cut it back. I then polished and waxed it. However I was told (afterwards!) that I should have waited at least...

I have an ex disabled car. I don't know much about its history but there is a plate under the bonnet. It had some sort of hand operated brake which was attached to the brake peddle from a hole through the chassis and an extension to the brake peddle down through the hole. Unfortunately the chassis h...
