matiz engine?
This might seem a daft question but my brothers daewoo matiz recently needed some engine work so I had a chance to see it, this got wondering if anyone has thought or tried fitting a matix 800 or 1000cc in their minor? - it wouldnt seem like an advantage and there's the FWD / RWD issue but I read th...

Hello, I'm not sure myself about the chemical cleaning properties of brasso, since I'm not involved in it's manufacture, however the yellowy powder that is left when dried is a bit abrasive. I've found when using it after it's been stored a while that the liquid part pours out - this doesnt seem to ...

RE: marks
yes, just that as it happens, watches are one of my hobbies, -collecting and repair, I wouldnt recomend that people repair their own unless they know how. I've still quite a lot to learn :) . I thought I'd put forward a couple of polishing substances. I'll look out for that polish here next time I'm...

RE: marks
sorry to go a bit more general than the topic but, when I polish silver myself I use silver polish (obviously) and for watches (not recomending you carry out DIY on your own watches) I use a green putty like substance called Rodico with the manufacturer's name being Bergeon, I like to use it in hard...

RE: MG gearbox internals
mmm, well I was just tempted by the idea of keeping the original box so it just fits straight in, if it's not worth it I might just end up putting in a standard one.

MG gearbox internals
Hello, I've heard that the standard gearbox internals in the morris can be replaced with parts from (I think, remembering) an MG. if so then what work would need to be done? - this would be for a 1098 - would the differential need changing? I think I've read a bit about entire gearboxes being replac...

RE: Paint work
how does it compare to Brasso, thats quite abrasive, well enough to polish off some gold plating.
After I started using it for some polishing applications my grandad decided to polish his entire car with it to liven up the colour.

Hello, I'm not a member, I might become one eventually when I've finished my car but for now I'm pretty happy just being registered on the message board. I have seen an issue of minor matters and it looked pretty relevant and interesting (some magazines for some things are just adverts etc). I check...

clock
Hello, the last couple of times that I've been on, I've noticed that some of the posts seem to have been posted at a time yet to come, often 10 or so minutes, however I just saw a new post posted nearly an hour ahead of the time so I was just wondering if the clock for the message board is correct. ...

Hello, Regarding the paint or enamel, I just remembered that two of my old bicycles from the 70's have a similar finish to metallic, they are painted with primer, while paint on top then the colour of choice on top and then possibly a clear laquer. Because the colour of choice is only applied thinly...

RE: Re: Insurance.
Hello, I'm glad to see someone has mentioned insurance as I will need to find a quote when my morris is finished. Will Footman James and Richardson Hosken insure young drivers (18/19), it will be my first car. Btw, I havent introduced myself on my previous posts, my name is Jonathan from South Yorks...
