The valve has now been changed for the cable operated type. Thanks to all, especially bigginger for hosting the picture and willie for the "like for like" info. Will post the valve on eBay as it freed off ok with a WD soaking unless any of you guys want it.

If I can't free it, is it a straight swap to the newer plunger type? Stud lengths and centres ok? Thanks

Cam, it's not the handwheel type either, and doesn't look like a lever has been added where the wheel was. Is there anyway I can upload a picture for general perusal and chin scratching?

It seems that it is of another type, not the plunger one. It is more of a solid brass bar lever opening a solid brass ball valve, very simple. Must be of an older type? Anyone ever seen one?

Thanks for all your info everybody. The carb is from a Mini mk 1 or Wolsey 1500 acording to Burlen so will naturally get bits appropriate to that. Seems like everything else is as it should be. Thanks.
