That is a Series E head. If you check out the sellers other items and look at the 948 engine also listed in picture 5 you will clearly see the sidevalve in the background.
The dynamo bracket gave it away for me before I checked the other items

Re: NTK 588 Traveller - any info pls?
I knew I recognized the number so had a look back through some old pictures I have and found a couple of it at the Purbeck rally and Autojumble (Dorset) back in about 1986/7. I have taken pictures of the pictures (not digital back then!) but they are too big to post so I will try and get the scanner...

I still have the control box in place on mine too, but just use it as a junction box. It just looks odd without it there I think!

Re: MM Boot Handle
The two countersunk screws that secure the handle have nuts on the back inside the boot lid by the lock on the early boot handles. Yes, captive nuts so the external screws CAN just be unscrewed, but the originals had a large headed screw in the end of the square shaft so you couldn't just pull it o...

I have also recently had problems with the rubbers and have tried one from each of the usual suppliers and the Charles Ware's one was the best fit, although still not perfect, much better than all the others! I guess they probably all come from one source/supplier so it may just be the luck of the d...

You need to try edition 2,3,4 or 5 then as it doesn't even mention it in the first edition.
Mine has a print date of December 1948 if that helps?

Re: Lucas L482 rear lamps
Richard. Carlo might have already mentioned it to you but yesterday I picked up a 482, minus the glass, at Beaulieu. Looks like it has never been used. I was planning to use it as a high-level brake light so let me know if you are still after one. There is someone in NZ also on the look out. Cheers...

Woohoo! I collected a set of 4 wide wheels for the MM today. They currently have 185x14 tyres but they should take 165x14. First set of these I've ever seen in the flesh. I still need to work out what bolts I'll need for them. Carlo? :D Are these the wheels from Gavin? If so I will have to have a l...

Re: Advice on pre sale Morris Minor check
Check the chassis number (stamped into bodyshell) matches the ID plate - ensure a genuine M/AT3 - vendor should be okay with this. I can vouch for this being an original factory built convertible, being the one that bought it from the owner who had stored it for many years. That was back in 1988 bu...
