So would that be: Smoke Blue Oct 1954 (290385) Feb 1955 (316731) used on Saloon/convertibles ?
Certainly would be a challenge to track it down.
If I was original owner of such a car that had disappeared then maybe....?

Body number Z 154912 can't make out the rest... and may not be original plate anyhow.
Vendor obviously wants rid of car but wrong to sell it on knowing what it is or Isn't!!
Original car OAN 575 was Dec 1958 Green with green interior 948cc.

I have walked away, as I did go and search for chassis number and unfortunately there are holes drilled in where number should be??? No way of obtaining original ID for car. Part of a body number visible but presume no use in identifying car??? But yes indeed it was OAN 575 and was registered Jan 19...

Hi, Thanks to all for input on this vehicle it's very much appreciated. I have asked the guy to uncover the VIN number and he has not replied but immediately relisted the car on eBay. I have informed him that I have checked the VIN plate against factory records and that it definitely does not belong...

No, unfortunately numbers not visible was hoping to be able to see it but it was too well covered in underseal.

Went to look at the car and it's really not bad at all, underneath good, needs a nice paint job and chrome work, interior not too bad could not find anything untoward (ID aside) with actual car. Engine bay undersealed and VIN not visible.Rang DVLA who said shouldn't be a problem getting correct V5 w...

Thanks for that if I can get a chassis number I might look into it, see how easy or difficult it would be to do!

I wonder though if it would ever be possible to obtain the correct documentation for the car and put things right based on the actual chassis number if one can be found?

Hi , thanks all for your comments/advice, I have asked the seller repeatedly to provide stamped chassis number but seller ingnoring the question??? I wonder why? Even if he decided to provide the number I know now from what you have all said there not a chance that it will match the VIN plate number...
