Mounting of Smiths heater blower assembly
Hello all, I've a got a Smiths heater blower assembly, picture below and the plan is to use it as a fresh air intake connected to the demister vent outlet. Does anyone know where the assembly should be mounted and where should the intake hose be placed? I was thinking perhaps somewhere on the right ...

Hi Andy,
Did you manage to find the cover? Am looking for one too.
Chris

Re: Temp sender housing
Guys,
Found a solution, 5/8" UNF male to female adaptor. For £2.50 from MOSS, it's worth a try.
Thanks to all.

Re: Temp sender housing
Rob, I think it's the standard one for the A-series engine, the 1098cc has the sender hole in the engine block. The thermostat housing is the non-standard Minor item, but the seat tapers well on both. Amgrave, If I would go the drilling and ptfe route, would grounding be an issue? Note that this is ...

Re: Temp sender housing
Yes, considered that option. Another was trying the GTR108, at additional costs
It looks like it has a longer neck without the tapered seat.

Re: Temp sender housing
Hi all, I plan to fit a temperature sender with a Smiths temp gauge on my Minor 948cc 1957, which does not have the sender hole on the engine block. Have spent 3 months searching and found a thermostat housing which has a pre-drilled hole to fit the sender unit, finally arrived today from Melbourne ...

Re: Brake pipe union threads
I agree on the UNF = M10 which is a no-no. For the brake pressure switch, I have just received a new T-piece 1/8 NPT all 3 sides (1 male, 2 female) which should fit as standard. A question on this, I have noticed the Minis had a braided oil pressure pipe connected on the engine end and to a straight...

Re: Brake pipe union threads
Nope bmcecosse, I was not serious about the pig's ear although the innards are great in a stew. :) It's standard fittings as you stated and not taupe's original sketch which is pre-1957 or on a Series 1 & MM setup. It will be all UNF except the outlet from the M/C, and from the rear 3-way outlet...

Re: Brake pipe union threads
Hi Guys, Thanks Phill and Nickol, I fully understand what you all meant. Was just fed up with all the various combinations available. Am sticking to plain vanilla as they call in IT, which is, what it was out-of-the-box. Richard, what I meant to changing to metric or SI, was the BSF of the M/C remai...

Re: Brake pipe union threads
Yes, Taupe, I've been reading your posts too! I will just have to pick either one, as I'm re-building from scratch, I might as well change the to metric because where I live, both UNF and BSF are extinct anyway! So let's create a 3rd version, right, wrong, metric. ;-)
Cheers.
Chris

Re: Brake pipe union threads
Thanks bmcecosse.
So essentially, there are only 2 brake pipes with BNF and UNF ends in the braking system.
Regards,
Chris

Re: Brake pipe union threads
Hi guys, The last post was 8 years ago and going to re-build my 1957 948cc soon. Going by the common consensus here, it's UNF for the front and BSF at the rear, that's just about right. Looking at all the major suppliers, only MOSS lists the sizes of their pipes. It seems that all are BSF, except th...
