Hello - Since my engine is so nakered I've decided to fit a doner engine in it's place!

Now are there any major points I should watch for....? I have a fair knowledge of the job in hand but I want to know if there are any sneaky twists to the tale of engine removal!

Well I've looked at Derby wiring products many moons ago (they do have a website!) you can get these thermocouple units which plonk in the radiator then go to a gauge - have a brouse to see if thats useful?

I could completely throw a spanner in the works and say how about FORD MEADOW GREEN! I know its not a proper morris minor colour but I like it and so does 'Pidge' (why do I personify my car - its an inaminate object) LOL.

It sounds like a fuel line vacuum... I have similar problems....the union joint on the fuel tank side seems to leak air and so causes a bubble in the line...it's one of tose jobs that seem to be 'I'll do it next time!'.

at last ive finally got a picture of my gauges, it not quite as many as Cam but I will have room for improvement

When the car is on idle the needle remains at zero, on acceleration the needle climbs up to no more than 5"/Hg and on deceleration it gives a similar reading! Do you think its an air leak?

It's quite sad, but G.C.S.E textile technology did EVENTUALLY come in handy. I managed to repair a torn section on my passenger seat with some good results. If you do, do DIY look how it's put together, get a sewing maching....some bobbins and away you go! You'll be surprised how therepeautic it can...

Gareth - I found that the magnet on the speakers kept vibrating against the body, also I wanted them to be more pronounced.

Cam - The pressure is measured in inches of mercury, when the car is ticking over the reading is more or less 0! When i accelerate is does climb but hasn't gone over 10 in/Hg

I seem however still register a 'poor' reading on the gauge!

right it seems letters will be written to Newton commercial so i'll keep you posted!
