Re: Oh no! Another 'Boot Lid Fitting' Query!!
Thanks mate. I'd considered the earlier boot seal, but didn't really think it would fit. I'm delighted to hear you suggest it! Cheers!

Oh no! Another 'Boot Lid Fitting' Query!!
Evenin all! As I've said in other posts, I'm currently working thru the jobs list on my recently acquired 1969 2 door Morris saloon and have reached the boot bit. I'm having trouble with the lock, detailed in another thread, but I'm also having trouble getting the blighter to close flush to the car....

Re: BOOT LOCK ASSEMBLY (LATE) HOW DOES IT ALL FIT TOGETHER?
Thankyou Richard, that's the closest I got too. Ideally I was after seeing if there was any alchemy involved in terms of placing the spring washers beneath the bell shaped bit but no luck. I'm now getting an itchy finger here and hovering over the 'Buy' button for a whole new lock assembly. The only...

BOOT LOCK ASSEMBLY (LATE) HOW DOES IT ALL FIT TOGETHER?
Hi all, I am currently working my way thru the jobs list on my 1969 2 door saloon and yesterday's job was the boot lock. When I bought the car it was fitted with the early boot lock sans locking barrel(!) with its original late boot lock and barrel disassembled in a bag. As always the history of suc...

Re: MMOC - Problems?
As I said in my post Steve, I spoke to someone 2 weeks ago on the phone and was told it would all be with me in a few days. Still nowt.

MMOC - Problems? - just me?
HI all, I'm about to go to my first local group meet this evening and was just scribbling down my MMOC number to take with me when a thought occurred. I joined some 4 weeks ago yet aside from a phone call with my membership number - arranged kindly by LouiseM of this parish - I have had approximatel...

Re: Just bought - 1969 Trafalgar Blue 2 dr Saloon
Indeed, and as I have no receipt for the exhaust from the previous owner or clue as to when or where it was fitted I am completely in the dark. We'll get there. Meantime I decided to paint the badge and emblem on the bonnet. I found the colour suggestions in threads on here. Not sure the blue is rig...

Re: Just bought - 1969 Trafalgar Blue 2 dr Saloon
Yes we did that too. We followed the proscribed procedure to the letter and it still blows. My mate who did the actual work whilst I pass him things and try to learn all I can, says that the exhaust seems to be in the wrong position where it meets the manifold. Almost like it needs to be bent upward...

Re: Just bought - 1969 Trafalgar Blue 2 dr Saloon
Just tried that method with a home made copper gasket which fits perfectly, but it doesn't seem to fit to the manifold square. Perhaps the exhaust is a very 'approximate' fit. Can they be bent or is there any other tips out there? A real shame as it's spoiling the car

Re: Just bought - 1969 Trafalgar Blue 2 dr Saloon
HI bmecosse, thanks for your reply. Will just get a set of the bushes from ESM then. With p&p they only come to £4.95 so that's a much cheaper way to go than the grumpy's. Aye, I'm gonna need all my pennies for this one I reckon! Gonna attempt the exhaust again at weekend. I've looked through a ...

Re: Just bought - 1969 Trafalgar Blue 2 dr Saloon
Hi amgrave, either is cool with me! Appreciate your reply. So you reckon to just replace the standard steady bar rather than upgrade to the grumpy? Being more or less new to all of this I would say that my main problem is that she makes a hell of a lot of noise and doesn't really accelerate as I wou...

This newspaper report, featuring previous owner Andy Pearson of Warwick, was included in the paperwork. Maybe he or others in the report are on this board so I've scanned it to share[frame]

Just bought - 1969 Trafalgar Blue 2 dr Saloon
Owdo chaps and chapesses, After many years of coveting a Mogg and having both a green traveller and 2 dr as a younger chap I finally took the plunge and picked up another last week after much research and lurking on here and elsewhere. She drives, um ok, and stops as she should. Obvious remedial act...
