Re: S u carb

Yes, I noticed that but then he goes back in the next sentence regarding the issue with the one carb, although the post is very confusing. It’s a rather ambiguous account. Let’s hope it is the float chamber after all the explanations, maybe the OP will post a plcture. Another clue for him, or indeed...

Re: Steves Morris Traveller 1970

If you haven’t used it and it’s not big enough, it will only deteriorate if left. it’s not likely to go up in value, however not always easy to sell something you’ve had for quite a while, only you know on this one.

Re: Hi

Bill, you mentioned Beadles of Dartford, I used to live a couple of miles from them in the sixties, I’m not far from the site now. Always in the spares department for my Mini. It’s long gone now of course. The showroom at the front, spares store down the side between the cinema and showroom. It’s no...

Re: Hi

You can normally be offered a selective choice of reg plate at the dealership. Presumably all other details are submitted to DVLA prior to leaving the factory. Probably no requirement for dealer to forward them the reg.

Re: Looking for a certain Morris Minor

Classic or not, if it’s rusted away, normally, the cost of repair outweighs the value, more so if the owner can’t, or doesn’t want to do the work themselves.

Re: Steering rack oiling/greasing

I’ve not heard of damper shims; where would you put them ? One of the dampers in your picture shows the semicircular wear that occurs over time, the best thing is to replace. When I did mine only one was available, can’t remember if it was the primary or secondary damper that was not available, I ha...

Re: Rusty sills - underside welding

Difficult question, depending on how much metal needs repair or replacing, with a Minor, or any car I suppose, removing rusty metal usually reveals more issues beyond, so an initial price will often escalate. The only place I can suggest for work is ESM minors although they are in East Sussex. Where...

Re: 20yo no start

That makes sense, return to a standard set up, doing that might even solve the issue. Either way, once running, then is the time to add non standard parts, if you feel the need.

Re: Past history.

Thanks for the link Chief, I’ve read through and although no clear explanation, it shows pretty well unanimous condemnation of Johnathan being banned, and rightly so. A long time ago but what a shame. Some old names in those posts, where are they now ? They appear to have banned themselves ! :D

Re: Past history.

Yes that’s the plate Phil, I bought it separately because I had a crack in the floor pan (photo attached) I drilled a hole each end to stop it spreading, then fitted the plate to finish the job. The picture shows what looks like a massive crack, it was infact only 4 inches or so. Yes I can’t recall ...

Past history.

I don’t know what brought this to mind but I was thinking of Johnathan Heep of JLH, is the company still running ? However that’s not the reason for this post. I seem to recall something happening, I don’t know what, or I’ve forgotten but I think he was banned from the forum over something. Am I rig...
