Had a similar rattle on mine for years - finally tracked down to wear between the splines on the torsion bar and arm. Even NOS arms were a "rattling good fit" on the torsion bar. Eventually found a good fit secondhand arm and it solved the problem

Couldn't find anyone with stock of the larger dampers so had the local machine shop make one from phospher bronze. Steering rack nice and tight now but my rattle turned out to be wear on the torsion bar splines.... No-one seems to have new torsion bars so rummaged through lots of secondhand ones unt...

When I fitted new wheel cylinders to my car (all 4 wheels) I found that I had to make spacers exactly like these. I think the new cylinders aren't exactly correct dimensionally so its either these spacers or try to find NOS cylinders. Guess the over-size adjusters may work as well but at £9 per adju...
