Sorry for what is a novice question.
is there a difference between n/s brake cylinders and o/s brake cylinders?

Are distributer drives interchangeable? I have two 25D's one with straight dogs and another one with offset dogs. I want to change them over as the one with offsets has electronic timing and wont fit my Morris.

The wire was the thin black one and it broke at the black module. Not repairable..

I am finding when I try and refit the distributer that it will only fit one way. Is this correct. It's a Lucas 25D. The shaft has a groove down one side which I assumed was for oiling but perhaps thats what is making it only fit one way?

Can I just check with you Kennatt your instructions.
Say the the roter points at number 3 on TDC i should make no 1 lead on Dizzy to no 3, no 2 lead on Dizzy to no 4 or have I got things completely wrong. Sorry but I need to get this right so I need it chapter and verse.

I just do not understand why I cannot get the rotor arm pointing at number one cylinder when number one is at TDC on compression. The rotor arm at TDC points between number three and four?

I am very much new at this and would appreciate some help.

I've just fitted a refurbished front damper to Doris and I asked the supplier what oil was used as the damper was "softer" than I expected. They fill with SAE 10W. Is this OK to use?

The oil will all seep out even if the car isn’t used. It’s not burned as it collects in a pool immediately below the carb.

The carb was very dirty and as I’m not missing any gaskets etc I just hope that a jolly good clean will perhaps sort the problem out.

I have disassembled my carb today to give it a good service. The main reason for doing this is that when I fill the dashpot with oil after about three days the oil has all leaked out. I assume that there is a gasket, washer or o ring to stop this but looking at all the SU diagrams I cannot for the l...

It was.

It did occur to me that it might be an idea to loosen all the suspension and leave it loose for a couple of days to settle further before finally tightening. All bushes were greased with white grease as well.

I have just finished replacing all the rubber bushes on the suspension with polyurethane. I now have a list to port of between .5 and .75 of an inch. (Drivers side is higher!) Is this within acceptable limits or do I need to adjust the suspension until it is exactly level?

Sorry. The chrome strip between the two hockey sticks.

Can anyone please tell me the length the chrome strip should be on my 1960 Convertible. I think that mine might have been shortened to make it fit.
