What a lazy boy I have been. Ran the tank half full all this time. Just replaced the gasket. Turned out to be a piece of cake, all the screws came out ok, no corrosion. Filled the tank, no leaks. Thanks guys. Terry

Have ordered the gasket and new bolts. I will let you know I get on.

Fuel tank sender unit
Hi I am new to this and need advice. I recently purchased a 1970 Traveller. I filled the tank for the first time yesterday and there are petrol fumes in the car. The area around the sender unit on top of the tank is damp. My question is can I remove the sender unit with the tank in place ? Regards T...
