My Brown Collie x spaniel with the recently passed terriers. They were always happy in the back of the Traveller.

Re: Replacing Traveller Post

Hello was wondering how you got on with replacing the post in the end? Not alot of information out there advising without replacing the whole side. Iv already replaced my wood during a restoration in 2015. Unfortunately I need to do the same myself as bottom of my post has rotted along with the foot...

Re: The price of tyres

They're not cheap these days I'm afraid. Best budget in my opinion is to fit the 155 80 14 nankangs. I got 5 afew years ago for £145 delivered. They're still doing great with lots of life left. If you're feeling fancy you can get some 145 14s from blockley for £75 a piece. Tyres on my wife's golf ar...

Re: How did this happen!

Not a Ford but did the same thing happen? Yes same thing. Was an issue with Volvo's and other makes that share the same master cylinder. We put a stop on the pedal so it wouldn't go all the way to the floor. Once the car had some miles on it my dad removed the stop. It's been fine ever since. Hopef...

Re: Brakes

Just to high jack the thread again.

Wolseley brakes and braided hoses have made a absolute massive difference. So much better am really happy with them. Old shoes still had full material. But the lining was breaking up.

Re: Brakes

This is true. Would probably recommend replacing every 8-10 years. Am risking it on the landy. But that has dual circuit brakes. Would like to think I'd notice a leak aswell.

Re: Brakes

Stainless flexy hoses might be worth a look then. Iv had them on my landy for 12 years and they're great.

Re: Brakes

Apart from brake fade I don't have any problems with them. Just whenever anyone else drives it they tell me its dangerous. Hoping the Wolseley brakes will give the wife some confidence. Really don't want to fit a servo to it as it's a nice pedal feel.

Re: Brakes

Was all new components when I rebuilt the traveller. Driving to fast has been alot of the problem aswell. Gearbox struggles abit in 3rd gear. But really driveable. Have another one to pop in it at some point. Its worth a try with the Wolseley ones anyway. Am also driving it alot slower these days. E...

Re: Brakes

Iv just picked up some Wolseley 1500 today. Hopefully they'll be a great improvement. Can't really afford disc brakes at the moment and my standard brakes need new shoes, cylinders and drum. They're fine for running around the country lanes but really struggle on the steep hills.

Re: Steves Morris Traveller 1970

We now have a little one on the way due in May. Plan on fitting rear seat belts so we can use the traveller aswell. Have purchased a beetle to be a fun car later on. As they're alot tougher and can be used in motorsport. Would be nice to have the traveller around for alot longer. Hoping with the Wol...

Re: Steves Morris Traveller 1970

Just to update everyone on this and myself. The Morris traveller has been completely reliable. Only problem iv had is the dynamo windings fail. Made a good one out of spare dynamos and new brushes. Currently it needs a good service and some little jobs. In the long run I'd like to respray it again a...
