Well, after the input from you folks, and talking to the people at Burlen, I've decided to bite the bullet and order a complete new float chamber lid assembly and the overflow pipe, which they pointed out was missing. Probably better that way in the long run, rather than try to repair the cracks.

My 1958 moggie has a 948cc engine with an H-type carb. I have had to do a repair (see my post elsewhere) of the float chamber lid to seal a crack. The lid to the float chamber on my carb has developed a crack and leaks fuel... not a good thing. Trying to track down a replacement. Can anyone point to a definitive source for these?

The moggie we have bought is a 4-door and the trim panels that cover the door pillars between the doors have been taken out. They are still present, though, so no need to make new ones yet. Thanks for all the info folks. I've seen the rubber blocks for sale, not too pricey, so will give those a try. We also intend to replace the straps and foam to improve things, might do that now. One day will probably re-cover them too... one bit at a time!
