Knob for rotating heater control on 1961 Minor 1000
Hi I have a 1961 Morris Minor Convertible. The knob which controls the rotating heater control ( on the rectangular model) has gone missing. Does anyone know where I could get another one? I've tried ESM and Bull Motif. Photo below. Cheers Alan[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1462789107_23...

Re: Fitting wing mirrors to a Minor Convertible
Yes, thanks for pointing out. Difficult to know quite what to call the mirrors. They are actually wing mirrors which have been fitted to the front of the doors as in this photo. In any case they are a huge improvement on the ones originally screwed to the edge of the doors, and personally I think th...

Steering wheel boss repainting?
Hi
I have a 1961 Minor convertible with a 3 spoke steering wheel. The back of the boss has most of the black chipped back to the metal.
Any tips on how to repainting and with which paint?

Re: Plain or coloured bonnet handle?
Thanks to everyone for their advice. I managed to source a beautiful replacement and correct handle which looks terrific. See photo. Off to the Laon classic car 25th anniversary event next week and the car should look perfect now, if it actually manages to get that far! Cheers Alan[frame] http://mmo...

Hi
Very interesting. I'm on the trail now for a replacement handle! Yes I am having the line painted on the sides.
Many thanks.

Hi ManyMinors
I've just managed to get a decent photo of my bonnet handle. Can you tell me if it 's correct for my 1961 model?

Re: Plain or coloured bonnet handle?
Thanks ManyMinors To be clear are you saying that my car shouldn't have the painted surround for the M because that came later? I am ignorant of the exact historical details of the badges and bonnet handles. Any further clarification would be much appreciated. Also, if it does need to be painted can...

Bonnet handle: red surround for the M?
Hi.
I have a 1961 Minor 1000 convertible. The bonnet handle has the area surrounding the M just chrome like the rest of the handle. Is this correct for the year or should it have a red surround?

Re: Plain or coloured bonnet handle?
Thanks. Here's a picture of mine. Funnily it shows no evidence of being red beforehand , but it probably was. Any ideas of the exact colour of red?[frame][/frame][frame][/frame]

Plain or coloured bonnet handle?
Hi
I have a 1961 Minor convertible. Does anyone know whether there should be red surrounding the M on the bonnet handle on this model? The bonnet badge has red and blue on it but the handle is plain.
Cheers

Thanks Laurie. Actually the hood is nearly new. But I might try those sticky-back rubbers.

Fitting wing mirrors to a Minor Convertible
Hi Can anyone suggest the least intrusive type of wing mirrors to fit to. 1961 Morris Minor Convertible? It came with the small ones which you screw to the upper front door frames. The trouble is that they fall off at irregular intervals, causing mayhem on the road behind! I don't want to spoil the ...

Interior hood fasteners to stop hood roof slapping
Hi. I have a 1961 Minor Convertible with a beautiful maroon mohair hood. Problem is that when it is up the top of the hood slaps loudly in the slipstream. I think it needs fasteners attached to the inside of the hood to attach it to the supporting stringer bars. Anybody got any idea of either how to...
