Thanks for the responses. Thinking about it, doesn't the fact that it just cuts out cold suggest that it's a problem on the LT side? If it were HT, wouldn't it be more likely to start running rough? As it is, it's just like you've switched the ignition off.

It's electronic ignition so no condenser.

Indicators have got tiny on some modern cars, or they're those 'chasing lights' ones that I often don't spot as being an indicator. On the other hand, new headlights seem to be required to let you see into the future, and blind oncoming drivers!
