My guess would be that your new/replacement flasher unit is faulty. I have exactly the same fault with not one but TWO replacements! In the end I bought a secondhand original one and it has been perfect ever since .

I agree. Well done for taking on such a project. Many cars in that condition are discarded because the cost of restoration is far more than the car's final value. I would say that your car looks more like Frilford Grey than any other Minor colour although it looks slightly different in each picture! This sort of thing probably happens more frequently nowadays, particularly in towns, as many people seem not to know their neighbours and also many people live in accommodation where they have no driveway/parking area and often have to park some distance from their home.
