Re: Riley 1.5 brake cylinder repairs
I got the Wolseley ones from Longbridge Motor Spares a while ago and I think they may have the Riley units.

Re: Electric Morris Minor
Very nice to see these become available even if some of the prices for parts like the bracketry are a little eye-watering, but I suppose the R&D costs need to be recouped and a profit made!

Strange boot lock and it looks like the speedo and steering wheel have also been changed. Not too much originality there either!

I've used Craig a couple of times and whilst not the cheapest compared to budget services on Shiply etc., completely dependable and enthusiastic. Helped me and a friend push a VW T25 around too!

Why not bore the 1098 to 1148? Why not go for a 1250?

Funnily enough I have an - apparently popular - Trafalgar blue Minor, but prefer one of the greys!

What about the automatically triggered ones, are we skeptical that they'll never go off when there isn't a fire?

Check the front shock absorber mounting bolts, the gearbox end of speedo cable, the gearbox mounts... and your leather shoes?

I've found pretty everything above the crankshaft to be interchangable, with some nuances around conrods, pistons and rings.

It's possible to put oil through those nipples isn't it? Like we were meant to in the steering rack.

Re: Recommendations for restoration companies
I had good experiences with Quest Brothers in St Ives (Cambridgeshire) when I lived over there. They do all marques but I've seen their work on Minors which was excellent. Slightly closer to Somerset there is Stephen B of Mostly Minors in Twyning Green (Gloucestershire) but he's a one-man operation ...

I wish somebody would manufacture a parabolic leaf spring for the Minor (I've asked several places with no luck). MGB owners are spoilt!

Re: Rear Suspension Overhaul Advice please
I was considering supporting the car behind the petrol tank on a beam of strong timber and 2x axle stands. I could raise the car on a trolley jack under the diff and then lower onto the beam. I will also support the axle of course. The floor of my car is in very good condition and any rust is very ...
