Clearly not but they'd pass for a stock item - I like. Very much under-stated... anyone know what those rims are?

Ozzy Osbourne advising his daughter on the subject of tattoos. "I you wanna be original, don't get a f'#"%ing tattoo" And he's not wrong. "What a beautiful woman! - all she needs to cap it off is a tramp-stamp." No one said. Just checked eBay. There's 3-4 on there now. Star...

When does stubble become a beard ? I'm not sure. How do I put this for the delicate flowers in our number? Ahem, you don't need to go full Father Xmas. Far from it. When you've left your face long enough for the look to be akin to something else, if we can justify calling you 'something else' - sto...

Ebay perhaps?
Love mine. I've owned various classics, fitted one to all of them... ahem, I like daft. Getting harder to find.

Re: Smiths Oil Check

I took it for light-hearted joshing. It's funny because it's true. Stereotypes become stereotypes because they're the unspoken statistical shorthand for reality. It's not about me. I could thkweam and thweam about my teetotalling ways and my preference for a razor-blade, but there's little point - t...

Re: Smiths Oil Check

Let's face it, there's definitely a beard-brigade element to most marques. The Farina crowd are deinitely all of that. Only the 'facial-hair thing' as that thread hints, has gone to two broad stereotypes. The old guard - and we know who they are - else, those with tattoos and Audis. ====== I think i...

Re: Good autojumbles this summer?

Yup. Reality is - Gate-money to these events can be very high. It's very possible to finish the day working for the fuel-bill and event-organiser. Someone has to pay, and that'd be you. I'm always amazed how the general buyer really believes the money he pays stays in the pocket of the seller. Talks...

Re: How to identify SU carburetors?

When you're done watch 3-4 hours of AC Dodd on Youtube. With near 80% of what you'll read about SUs on forums being wrong or down-right damaging, he changes how you view your fuelling and ignition. And thus how you see and use your classic. 3-4 hous mind... not less. https://www.youtube.com/@ACDodd ...

Re: Smiths Oil Check

There's division with these, outrage, nay uproar on the Farina forum. Some actually think you fit a Smiths Oil-Check for its function! It says a lot about how some cars bring a mindset with them. It's interseting how differnent factions of the classic-car fraternity deal with what in my mind has to ...

Don't get me wrong, I'm aware of US 'woodies'/ shooting-brakes et al. I love the Traveller really. Would I change it if I could... no. So forgive me. I reckon it was the same bloke that refused to put his plane right-side up. Just think and consider for the moment... of all the ways possible to make...

The noise alone would wake the dead. Send it round.

Maybe not one for the rivet-counters...

It has an obvious flaw that unlike an A-Series, you can't sit about waiting for your oil to go to Helmans or 90% petrol from all the cylinder wash from tuning your carburettor 15 hours a day.

I'd drive it.

I've made broad searches. It's been 11 odd years and still no word. LouiseM of this parish says the car is owned by a member - owner was contacted - and no word. I come back on to check here once in a while. Will keeping checking. Pix of the car from the 60s/70s still sit in the family album. One da...

Re: Purists look away now

You have to admire the skill and craftsmanship that has gone into making it but then you think, all that work and you've still got the engine in the wrong end :D Someone has real wit. It screams fun, and will irk the beard-brigade just enough. Gotta say I like it... a lot. And normally I'd run a mi...

Best wishes,

Sniff, seems CAR 734B remains elusive. Sob;)

Now I think about it, I'm sure sometime in the mid 70s a magazine had a mini-feature on the Riley/Wolesley drum conversion.
