Re: Pepper, 1955 splitscreen saloon

we`ve been making some slow progress again with Pepper. I haven`t done much on her since the last update, apart from cleaning up the floors ready to weld in the new panels. Just as Wayne and I had made plans to start the weldathon i found a major leak in my shed :o with the weather we`ve been having...

Re: Introducing Morri - the 1954 two door from New Zealand

thats one nice looking splitscreen :-) it seems there`s a few coming out of the woodwork, so to speak, recently.... mine, stevey`s and now yours too. not that its a bad thing of course :D

is it just me, or does the grille/ grille surround look rather fetching being a darker colour? I like it!!!! :D

Re: Pepper, 1955 splitscreen saloon

me too! I sold a Morris 1800 (landcrab) on ebay a few months back - it was MOT`d but i described it as a rolling project and suggested viewing. A guy in Kent 'won' the auction without viewing and expected me to deliver to him by 10am the day the auction finished. it didn`t occur to him that the auct...

Re: Pepper, 1955 splitscreen saloon

Just another quick update.... work has been a little slow the last few days as I`m having a major argument with my GP surgery and hospital about getting an insulin pump (i`m type 1 diabetic) and they`re, to put it nicely, being idiots!!! Anyway, i`ve managed to get the engine all degunked and cleane...

Re: Pepper, 1955 splitscreen saloon

Just a short/quick update tonight. I`ve started to clean up/degunk the block ready for it to be checked over by a local engineering shop. I know I should be tackling the welding first, but as my friend has been a bit tied up the last few days I`ve been trying to make a little mechanical progress :-)...

Re: Pepper, 1955 splitscreen saloon

thanks everyone :-) Yeah, Pepper will be a fairly steep learning curve for me, but in a good way :D Sure, i can weld a little, but I`ve got some scrap bits of metal I can play about with before I inflict too much damage on her. Then there`s the engine rebuild..... that`ll be a first for me. I know I...

Pepper, 1955 splitscreen saloon

Well, as I have a project, I guess I`d better start a thread on her restoration :-D This...... [frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1390245336_20437 [/frame] ....is Pepper, my recently-acquired 1955 splitscreen project :-) A couple of weeks ago I was looking for a new classic car that I could ...

Re: hello all

oh, i`ll be having lots of fun on the restoration.... engine needs a rebuild as its seized :-? and a bit of welding, but I can`t complain really. its fairly solid compared to the Traveller I was offered yesterday, which seemed to have rotted so badly it broke into 3 pieces (the whole car!) just by t...

I just joined the forum a few days ago and figured i`d better say hello.... so hello!!! :D I`m Michael, from Clacton in Essex. I`ve had a couple of Morris Minor`s in the past - 2dr, 4dr saloons and a Traveller - but had been away from the MM for a while.... well, until today! have just collected a 1...
