Is it not easier to find two old wheels and restore those, then keeping
them as spares for the time you have to change a tire? If the wheels are to bad you can replace the tires once and awhile.

Temp gauge flickering.

I have fitted an electrical water temp gauge and wired it to the stabaliser on the back of the speedo (where the fuel gauge gets its live feed). Have you wired the temp through the voltage stabiliser? If not then that might be your problem! :) on the back of the regulator there is a short wire going to the fuel gauge, this had a spare 'spade' where it left the regulator so to save breaking into the wire i connected to that. is this ok?
