Which points distributor can I use from the local scrap yard ?, metro 1.0 ?, Mini ? I do not have the original internals so need to scrounge some spares. At least Icant...

cam,

Breather is blocked off, vac connection is not leaking.

Can't for the life of me think where the air is getting in, but at least the mixture adjustment is compensating very well.

Thanks for the help , re-stripped the carb down, cleaned and checked everything, then re-assembled. This time I made sure the mixture screw positioned the jet to a couple of mm below the bridge. Started her up and everything seemed to run a Lot better, screwed the mixture screw in even further and n...

Still having problems with moggy.. I have fitted an HIF38 , (from a Metro, and currently with the standard needle for the 1.0 Metro), fitted new rotor arm, (magnetic electronic ignition), new coil, new leads and new plugs. Carb Identification

I am having problems with my carb and want to get another from the scrapyard to try. I am unable to identify my carb,(apart from the fact it is an SU), it is mounted via 4 bolts to a 'mini sport' ally manifold, with integral float chamber. All the carbs I look at so far are mounted to the manifold v...

Carburetor problems ?

My 1098 is fitted with a ‘mini sport’ manifold and what I am guessing is a 1 ¼” SU HIF38 carb as fitted to the 1275 Mini. All has been fine, in fact probably has been running a little rich as hardly any choke was ever need, even from very cold. Now all of a sudden everything seems to be reversed, I ...

Thanks for the advice, ring spanner and turning over on the starter undid the nut no problem, pully came off with ease.

And all with the rad and engine in place.

Job done..

Crankshafy Pully removal

The crankshaft pully has just split in two !.

Before I spend half a day trying to undo the nut, is it right or left hand thread ? and will I need a pully drawer to get it off?.

I bet this is one of those jobs that looks simple enough but willturn out to be a right pain..

Access to washet jets and wiper spindles

Hi,

Might seem a bit daft, but how do I get access to the washer jets and wiper spindles ?.

Looks like you have to get at them from the inside, but the glove box seems to be in the way, how do I remove the glove box ?
