Re: Pick ups with wooden backs

Excellent. Hay bales, straw, piglets, children... Thanks for the replies, I guess it all depends on personal preference and what the car's for. I just love Minors for what they are and I have seen quite a few wooden backed conversions that look pretty nice and some very nice metal ones too. Thanks a...

Re: Pick ups with wooden backs

Thanks for the replies. I prefer the metal backs but these come at a premium. I suppose if the back it wooden at least it won't rust :)

Pick ups with wooden backs

Hi I have seen a number of pick-ups advertised which have wooden rears rather than metal ones. Some say that they are genuine pick-ups and others have been converted. What's the general view on these as quite a few come up for sale on e-bay. I was looking out for a usable pick-up for a smallholding....

Starts OK but stops after a few minutes

Hiya My minor starts OK but stops when fuel isn't being pumped into the carb. The fuel pump feels hot and when I thump it, it starts again but stops soon after. One mechanic who has looked at said the needle on the carb jet was sticking but it seems to be working OK to me. New carbs are pricey so on...

Re: Heater wiring problem

All sorted now, I'd taken quite a few wires out of commission when pushing the heater tubes through. So now my little car has heat and windscreen wipers. Brilliant

Re: Heater wiring problem

Thanks for this, I thought so. I cannot see where to connect the green wire to at the present, I will look again in the morning. The green wire is still flapping in the breeze.

Re: Heater wiring problem

OK, I have found that one of the green wires feeding the connection into which the heater connector fits is flapping about loose. It has stripped wires but no connector. I blew a fuse trying to find one possible place and also tried to see if this needed to be earthed and now find that that the igni...

Re: Heater wiring problem

Hhhhmmm. The good news is the heater now works fine! The bad news is the wipers don't. Any clues on this? :-?

Heater wiring problem

Hi, I know that people have posted this before but I am still a tad lost as to where to connect the two wires from my Smiths round heater to my '54 Minor. One of the wires has a little button connector which I think I have placed in a green connection under the dash. (?). The other is stripped back ...

Fitting 'buddy seats' in van/pick-up

Hi Has anyone on the forum fitted additional seats in the back of a van or pick-up? I was thinking of doing this in the future to take my kids down the road to feed our pigs! :D I have seen buddy seats fitted in campers and the like and don't cause problems. Perhaps a sideways bench over the rear wh...

Hurray! All sorted now. The earth wire had been attached to the plastic windscreen washer bottle holder...not anymore!

Thanks everyone for your help and patience. Have a good week.
