Fiat Argenta sump in Morris Minor ?

Hello all. Has anyone used the low-profile Argenta sump in their Fiat modified Morris Minor ?
I have aquired a complete Argenta engine and 5 speed transmission, and was looking for any advice as it will obviously give me greater ground clearance.

Fiat Twin Cam sump problem

Hello from Australia. I have aquired a sump from a Fiat Argenta which will give me much better road clearance for my 2.0 twin cam engined Minor. Has any one used the Argenta sump in their Minor? My vehicle is strictly for road use, and not for any competition, so l am assuming (? ? ?) that the sumps...

Re: Using Marina torsion bar adjusters

That is most helpful, thank you so much. I managed to remove the swivel pin & disc brake assemblies, no problem there. I have also removed the nut from the top of both of the eye bolts. So all I am left with now on the vehicle is the torsion bar, with rear adjuster still attached to the torsion ...

Re: Using Marina torsion bar adjusters

:o Hello all. I have located a Marina with stronger bars, however l cannot work out how to remove the rear of the bar from the crossmember in the Marina. Is there a trick to it? There does not appear to be any access holes in the crossmember to get at the back of the torsion bar. ANY advice from lea...

Bravo. What an excellent modification. I must compliment you on your workmanship too; clean, tidy, neat - impressive is an understatement. And quality photos too. You have motivated me now to do likewise, :D l trust you will not be be offended if l use your "intellectual property" to get t...

Re: Swapping speedo's

Did you have any luck with compiling a list of speedo's? The late model 1098cc version of Morris Minors were not sold in Australia, only a handful were ever imported by individuals. As such anything 1098 related is rare or non-existent. I would be very interested in such a list if you managed to pre...

Re: Swapping speedo's

:D By reference to the official wiring diagram for the late model 1098 vehicle, it seems the wire from the tank sender unit connects to one side of the fuel gauge; the other side of the fuel gauge connects to the "I " terminal on the regulator (see photo attached). This leaves the "B&...

Re: Swapping speedo's

:D your help and advice is appreciated. My vehicle has been modified, so no real issue about "keeping it original". The 948 engine has been bored to 1030cc, inlet manifold separated, mild cam, duplex timing chain & gears, 12G295 head, lightened flywheel, MG Midget clutch, ribcase gearb...

Re: Swapping speedo's

Thankyou once again; now it seems we are getting somewhere. So I need to use the SENDER UNIT from the same vehicle that the speedo came from; that makes a lot of sense. On the subject of re-calibrating the black speedo, it is not overly expensive here in the land of Oz, I have had it done before. Ho...

Re: Swapping speedo's

Thankyou Richard. Yes the 948 rear axle will mean the speedo requires re-calibration which I am aware of. Black faced speedo has the following numbers just below the odometer "SN.4423/05 880" The black faced speedo has a regulator screwed to the back of the speedo, with "Smiths BR 130...

Swapping speedo's

Hello from Australia. I have a 1958 Minor 1000 with the speedo (silver face?) mounted in the centre of the dashboard. I have obtained a black faced speedo from the later model Minor 1000 that I want to install, but I have been advised that the fuel gauge won't work in my model minor. I don't want to...

Re: Hardened Half-shafts

Hello Harrysmoggie;
re: "I have just brought a pair of uprated half shafts cost me £80. This must be a cheaper alternative than changing the axle!"
can I ask where you obtained your uprated half shafts from ?
