Re: morris starter motor

Yeah it is a cast block an i have a dynamo mounting bracket that has to be bolted on with the head. Do you think a morris eight starter motor would fit it or is my best bet to get a 10 tooth bendix for my old starter?

Re: morris starter motor

To tell the truth its not in a car its in the president tractor. Same block as the morris 8 with a few differances in the oill filler ect but have sorted all that an fitted in to the tractor. aAn have now found out that morris put a differant flywheel starter ring on the tractor engine.

Re: morris starter motor

There are no extra holes on the flywheel an I am sure it's a Morris eight engine. The enginenumber isc78734 an cast in the block it says 1.1.57 31649 hope this helps.

morris starter motor

Hi, I have bought a new morris side vale engine an up on rebilding have found the flywheel has 80 teeth not 102 so my starter motor wont turn it over. Could anybody please tell me how many teeth are on the starter motor bendix for an 80 teeth flywheel as my starter has 9 teeth?

Many thanks Matt
