Re: Trafficators and Heat...
Thank you so much! That sounds relatively simple!
Hopefully, I will be able to change them out without a problem...
I may take my old ones out and try the penetrating fluid before ordering new ones....
It's worth a try, anyway, right? Nothing ventured, nothing gained....

Re: Trafficators and Heat...
Heater should be pretty warm. Either the thermostat in the cylinder head is stuck, or the heater needs flushing through with the hosepipe and reverse-flushing until clear water comes out. This has never failed to work for me. But first of all, check that the brass tap supplying the heater at the re...

Hey Y'all! It has been a while since I was on here... Time has slipped away from me... I still drive my "Precious" all over the place and am continuing to do small bits of restoration at a time.. as I have the money. I have a couple of questions for y'all and would so much appreciate it i...

Re: North American Tire source
The Coker ones are excellent tires indeed. I bought a single 145/R14 from them to use as a spare (until I have money for a full set of the 145s), and that tire is made well and looks sharp. Good idea to have the rims powder-coated too! 8) Yes, I thought so, too... Powder coating seems to be more du...

Re: Need Pictures Of Under The Dash, Please...
Some need to be twisted a little after the pull to make it stay out ,try it and see :D I tried to turn it clockwise and nothing doing... :x ^^^^as above pull choke switch out and twist clockwise. This usually locks it in position. I'm sure it is something that I am not doing correctly... Earl...

Re: Need Pictures Of Under The Dash, Please...
It's generally on a push switch operated by foot to the left of the accelerator pedal on UK (non export) models. I don't know about LHD export models, but my Jeep (LHD) had the dimmer on the left as well, so worth looking to the left of the accelerator pedal. There is nothing like that on my floorb...

Re: Need Pictures Of Under The Dash, Please...
One more thing (I expect y'all will get thoroughly tired of that phrase before too long  ) Is the choke switch supposed to stay out when you pull it out to choke it, or is it supposed to require that you hold it out? I thought it would be a pull out-stay out sort of situation.... then you coul...

Re: Need Pictures Of Under The Dash, Please...
I almost forgot...I was going to ask, is there a bright/dim switch somewhere for the headlights? :-? There is a tiny little slide switch under the dash - which switches the speedo illumination on/off - with the sidelights of course. I hate to seem dim, but I am not clear on what you just said there....

Re: Need Pictures Of Under The Dash, Please...
Also being a '59 car I'd expectthe key number to be FP and three numbers. It should be stamped on the face of the ignition switch (they were hot on security in 1959!)so easy enough to read it off and order a new one from one of the specialists. You are obviously a whiz at this! 8) Keith took a flas...

Jim sounds like he knows his stuff, and he is right about wing-mirrors being fitted as extras. He hasn't steered me wrong yet... It is such a blessing to have y'all to confirm what he tells me, though...It is going to be expensive enough to restore my Precious, without me blowing money on something...

One has arrows that point left and right <- -> but I don't know what it is...and I forget right this second WHAT the other one says or even where exactly it IS  The first is the heater fan control, from memory it goes from full on to slower as it goes clockwise. The other is a "fresh&quo...

Re: Need Pictures Of Under The Dash, Please...
if yours is a serr11 split screen then the switch marked left and right is probably the trafficator switch,it was under the dash on the right side. Mine is a Series III, I am pretty sure...it has the single curved windscreen in place of the two piece split-screen and also a larger rear window. .......
