Re: old skills new wave innocence

When i did my apprenticeship in the mid 60s, we learnt everything from servicing to rebuilding gearboxes, welding & bodyshop. We were all good all rounders as you might say. I think i'v forgot most of what i learned, but the things i remember come in mighty useful.

Very well done, you deserve to be really satisfied with that result. I did something similar years ago, but gave up half way through. So i know how tough it is. Again, well done.

Re: New type "O" rings for valves Help.

Go for the later a-series valve stem oil seals, they don,t have the wire ring which locates on the valve stem. they have ridges inside the seal to grip on the guide. They work very well on early motors. Any motor factors can get them.

Re: dashboard window vent / demister locateing screws

Hello, Had this problem with mine a couple of times. Never did find the screws. The last time this happened i used new self tappers with a dab of thread lock on them, that was about 4 years ago. no problems since. You need a good stubby.

Re: Modern day peoples car?

Always thought the marina was or is a good car. I'v never understood why is has always being classed as national joke. perhaps I'm lacking something there.I do hope you decide to put it on the road again,& not break it just to make our moggies into something they are not designed for
